FAQ
THE MAIN EVENT:
You and your best mates will spend time becoming intimate with a 1.5lb piece of whirling wood and metal as you learn, practice, and play axe throwing games. Our Axe Throwing sessions are run by trained Axeperts who will show you how to safely handle an axe and chuck it with accuracy while giving you tips on how to capture that illustrious Bullseye!
Our Address:
We are located at 14 S 2nd St, San Jose, CA 95113 in the old Voodoo Lounge.
Parking:
The first 90 minutes of parking at the 3rd & Santa Clara garage is free. There are also numerous meters on the surrounding streets with 2 hour limits, and surface paid lots. Please note that we do not validate any parking.
Train/Bus Stop:
The 2nd & Santa Clara station is conveniently located right across the street!
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time to check in, use the facilities and prepare to show that bullseye who’s boss! If you are late it will eat into your group’s allotted time. Every time someone is late a blue ox sheds a tear.

Yes. Throwing axes is similar to other target sports. Provided that participants follow the instructions and safety rules explained by our staff and use common sense, throwing an axe (or knife) is safe. Our experienced and highly trained staff are in the throwing arena with you at all times and monitor your throws for safety and guide you through the entire process. Only participants that have gone through our safety course are allowed to enter the throwing arena. There is no passing of axes between players and players must follow specific instructions from their axe supervisor.

The minimum age to participate without a parent/guardian is 18. We are really really bad at guessing ages. All of us were fired from the carnival for assuming everyone is 6 years old. So, don’t forget your I.D. or you won’t be able to release your inner lumberjack/lumberjill.
Children ages 8+ for axe throwing, and 6+ for splatter paint, can participate with a parent/guardian if they are with a parent/guardian at all times. Children under 8 years of age can be on site if they are supervised at all times and kept out of the axe throwing arena. There is a separate waiver that the adult will have to fill out on site to authorize their children to participate in either activity. If these guidelines are not followed we will send you home without a refund.
We provide all of the equipment that you will need! Your reservation includes your equipment rental. All equipment meets World Axe Throwing League (WATL) and World Knife Throwing League (WKTL) guidelines and specifications. WATL guidelines can be found HERE and WKTL guidelines can be found HERE
If you have axes that you would like to throw that meet WATL specifications you can bring them and we will inspect them on site. You can also bring your own paper based targets or items to throw at. Some examples of previous items include pinatas, photos of zombies and more. If you’re looking to do something special or have a crazy idea, email us at info@axe-men.com and we will see if we can accommodate.
Yes we do! Email us at info@axe-men.com regarding private events and space reservations.
Axesolutely! Please check our ticketing and availability page for more information on all options. If you would like private lessons please contact us for more information.
Why would you want to come to an axe throwing facility and not throw axes?! Due to space and capacity limitations a ticket is required to enter the facility. Email us at info@axe-men.com with additional questions.
Yes it is! Our facility is fully ADA compliant and we’ve had people throw in walking casts, in wheelchairs, with old shoulder injuries etc If your doctor has cleared you to move your arms above your head, and lift at least 1.5 lbs, then we will get you sticking in no time. Our coaches will do their best to get everyone throwing like an axepert.
